He served as Vice President, Research and Development. Previously, Dick spent two years at Bell Laboratories while doing doctoral studies at the University of Colorado. He was one of the pioneers in computer graphics while doing research and teaching at the Air Force Institute of Technology in the early 1970's.
Dr. Alyn Rockwood, Chief Technology Officer
Alyn is one of the leading research scientists worldwide and is primarily known for his innovative research in computer graphics and geometric modeling. He received a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics from Cambridge University in Cambridge, England. While a research scientist at Cambridge University in the 1980's, he invented a new area of mathematics involving the definition and blending of surfaces. His entire professional life has been involved in studying the mathematics of the representation of objects.
Alyn is currently Vice President of SIGGRAPH, one of the most prestigious worldwide organizations focused on graphics and 3D. He served as the SIGGRAPH conference chair in 2003 and as the SIGGRAPH Research Papers Chair in 1999. Alyn has an illustrious career that spans many leading 3D companies including Silicon Graphics, Evans & Sutherland, and Mitsubishi Research. He was formerly a tenured professor at Arizona State University and most recently was Professor, Assistant Dept. Head, and Director of Graduate Studies at the Colorado School of Mines in Golden, Colorado
Alyn conceptualized and developed the FreeDesign geometry subsystem. He believes the technology has great potential in design, styling and animation, and education. Alyn has continued to expand the technology foundations for his innovative geometry subsystem he originally created in 1998. This knowledge, and several of his pending patents in this technology area, he brings to FreeDesign.

Scott Hagen, VP of Development
Scott has over 12 years of professional experience developing software products for the 3D Design and CAD/CAM industry. His prior experiences include CTO and cofounder of Popular Genetics Inc., CTO of Curventa Corp, Lead Developer and cofounder of Power Takeoff Software Inc., Lead Developer for Virtual Solids Corporation, as well as a Software Development Consultant at large. Scott is also co-inventor of the patent on the technology that underlies the FreeDimension product.
Scott holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and Physics. While in academia, Scott held several research assistant positions developing software in numerical methods for differential equations, data acquisition and processing, as well as experimental techniques in thin films and atomic microscopy.
Scott has been a long time computer enthusiast. His first programming experience was on an Apple II computer in 1982, and he continued his interest with the Commodore VIC20, a Commodore 64, an Amiga 100, and his first home-built computer, an i386 compatible computer. He continues to enjoy computers and programming by spending too much money on hardware and software. Scott has had extensive programming experience in C/C++, Windows, OpenGL, VB, UNIX/Linux, Pascal, Fortran, Scheme, DOS, Basic, and many others he has already forgotten.
